Kangwang Pocket Park in Liwan District is filled with rich Xiguan characteristics.

The Kangwang Pocket Park plot is located at the junction of Kangwang Middle Road and Longjin Road. In the past, there were temporary buildings facing the street. After the temporary buildings were demolished, the plot of land became idle. Due to its prominent location at a busy intersection, the dilapidated environment affects the appearance of the city. In order to optimize the living environment, the Housing Construction and Garden Bureau of Guangzhou Liwan District explored local cultural elements and implanted sponge city concepts based on the original site characteristics, surrounding conditions, topography, etc., to create a high-quality demonstration site for pocket parks in Liwan District.

The Kangwang Pocket Park is about 630㎡ in size. It extracts traditional Lingnan architectural elements such as blue bricks, wok ear houses, slatted doors, and Manchurian windows to match them, creating an antique landscape. The pavilion can be used by tourists to stop and rest. There is a bamboo sketch-shaped landscape wall and introduction in the venue.The plaque records the history of Kangwang Road and the story of the patriotic general Kang Baoyi.

As a sponge city park demonstration site, the park is paved with imitation granite permeable ceramic tiles, combined with sunken green spaces. Rainwater is collected through a preset drainage pipe network into an underground reservoir for collection and storage. use. Maximize the recycling of rainwater and implement the concept of sponge city. The garden is planted with red-flowered campanula, bougainvillea and other trees, and is decorated with colored shrub balls to achieve a transparent and comfortable visual effect and bring a brand-new community environment to nearby residents.
