In security projects, camera installation is essential. In actual security projects, camera installation is divided into five steps, as detailed below.

Step 1: Choose the correct installation point

The purpose of the camera is to monitor a certain area. To achieve this goal, the site must first be surveyed to find the most suitable point for camera installation. The general principles for point selection are as follows:

The above three conditions must be met as much as possible. After all, the camera will not be replaced casually after it is installed.

Step 2: Wiring the camera

According to the route planned when selecting the point, fix the wire trough/conduit on the planned route (Note: Power cables and network cables must be routed in separate cable troughs). Then put the network cables and power cables into the corresponding cable troughs. If both the camera and the switch support POE power supply, then only the network cables need to be placed.

The third step, install the camera

There are many ways to install the camera: with a wallinstallation, ceiling installation, pole installation, etc. Wall and ceiling installations need to be installed according to the following steps:

If it is a pole method, it is usually installed outdoors. The camera is directly fixed on the pole, and the cable needs to pass through the inside of the pole to reach the camera. In order to prevent rainwater from entering, the cable must enter the camera shield from below. At the same time, a lightning rod should be used at the highest point of the pole. Finally, a waterproof box will be installed on the pole to store the power adapter, photoelectric converter (if any), lightning protector, etc.

Step 4, NVR installation

After the front-end camera is installed, the back-end only needs to plug the network cable into the network switch to connect to the network That’s it. After the network is connected, we will follow the following steps to install and deploy the hard disk video recorder (NVR)

The fifth step, adjust the angle of the camera

When installing the camera in front, the angle is determined by visual inspection, which is definitely not accurate. After the hard disk video recorder is installed, one person can watch the video preview on the hard disk video recorder, and the other person can adjust the camera angle according to the instructions. When the angle reaches the optimal angle, fix the camera and cover all the wire troughs to complete the installation of the camera.
