On this day, Liu Liwen is about to celebrate his 60th birthday, which also means that he is about to say goodbye to the police camp and the community where he has worked for 27 years, and to start his retirement life. Today is his last day before retirement. Liu Liwen did not rest. Instead, he put on his beloved police uniform and came to his familiar community to complete his last shift with the \”comrades\” he had spent day and night with.

After joining the public security force in 1993, Liu Liwen first worked as a patrol policeman, and in 1995 he began to work as a community policeman at Ouyang Road Police Station. The Xingfu Village community where No. 23 Dalian West Road belongs is the first community under Liu Liwen\’s jurisdiction after he became a community policeman. For 23 years, no matter the wind or rain, he has always stood at the entrance and exit of No. 23 Dalian West Road to protect the property safety of residents in the community. That winter, when I first took office as a community member of Xingfu Village CommunityPolice officer Liu Liwen is troubled by the high incidence of bicycle thefts in the community. At that time, there were a total of 6 entrances and exits in the community. It was obviously not feasible to arrange security guards at each entrance. Blocking the exits would bring inconvenience to the residents\’ travel. By chance, when Liu Liwen attended a friend\’s wedding banquet, he saw that his son particularly liked playing with the revolving door of the hotel and almost got stuck. This suddenly gave him an inspiration: If this kind of door is used in residential areas, can it prevent thieves from stealing large items? So he drew a design sketch overnight and actively coordinated the production of the co-construction units. In 1997, the city\’s first four-leaf community security revolving door was erected at the entrance of No. 23, Dalian West Road. A few days later, a thief who stole a large bag of property was trapped. Subsequently, the street quickly installed nearly 300 such revolving iron doors in various residential areas. Liu Liwen\’s invention was also awarded the Prevention Creation and Invention Award by the Shanghai Public Security Bureau.

After that, Liu Liwen also made small inventions such as window anti-theft bolts and electric vehicle battery anti-theft locks, and his reputation as \”Police Camp Luban\” came from this. But the revolving iron door has always been Liu Liwen\’s ingenuity. Whenever he has time, he will bring tools and lubricants to inspect the door and see this old comrade. Today is no exception. He feels that it is very meaningful and satisfying to be able to use his little invention to add a layer of protection to the property safety of residents in the area. He also firmly believes that with the continuous advancement of smart public security construction, revolving iron doors will eventually withdraw from the stage of history and be replaced by smarter and safer facilities. By then, the goal of \”a world without thieves\” will also be achieved.

Most of the residents of Bauhinia Garden Community are in their 60s There are 70 or 80 households with elderly people over 10 years old who live alone. As part of Liu Liwen\’s daily work, he went to the neighborhood committee to take a police-citizen contact card from the drawer, took the elevator to the ninth floor, and knocked on Grandma Jin\’s door. His steps are obviously a bit heavy.

He just joined the Bauhinia Garden Club in 2010. At that time, Liu Liwen visited Grandma Jin\’s home and learned that her husband, Mr. Meng, had been bedridden due to illness and that her son was abroad. Therefore, bathing and shaving his wife became Grandma Jin\’s biggest trouble. He contacted the bathhouses and barber shops in his jurisdiction to provide door-to-door services for the elderly, and handed over his mobile phone. The number was left to Grandma Jin. In the following ten years, it was Liu Liwen\’s job to take Elder Meng to see a doctor, change a lightbulb for Grandma Jin, and help the second elder to clean. This move made Grandma Jin almost regard Liu Liwen as his own. He has his own son and always thinks of Liu Liwen first when something happens.

After Mr. Meng passed away two years ago, Grandma Jin’s physical condition was not as good as before, and her memory began to become blurry. She was afraid that she would not remember Liu Liwen’s phone number, so she often asked Liu Liwen for the police and citizen contact card, plus the one she brought today, Grandma Jin’s dining tableThere are already six police and citizen contact cards tucked under the glass. When the old man learned that Liu Liwen was retiring tomorrow, his eyes suddenly became moist. \”Don\’t worry, after retirement, I will still come here often.\” Holding the old man\’s hand, Liu Liwen also had tears in his eyes. The most worrying thing for him in the Bauhinia Garden was Grandma Jin.

Taking root in the community and caring about the masses, every resident is an informant and intelligence agent. Liu Liwen can learn about all the big and small things in the community from the residents at the first time and carry out verification immediately. Solving problems and eliminating hidden dangers should be the most realistic portrayal of the situation between the police and the people. What Liu Liwen gained with his sincerity was not only the sincerity of the residents, but also the peace of the community. Back at the police station, young policeman Zhang Haining is helping Liu Liwen organize desk, and the first thing Liu Liwen did was to explain to him one by one what he had just written in his notes. A few months ago, the leader of the police station asked Liu Liwen to choose a successor among the young policemen. At first, Zhang Haining felt that since his master was an outstanding people\’s policeman at the national level, he naturally had his own \”tricks\”. As long as the master taught these tricks to each other, no matter what difficulties he had, he would be able to solve them easily. However, during the several months of follow-up work, the master only led him to do one thing—visiting residents door to door. Every time he visited a household, Liu Liwen would ask Xiao Zhang to write down the residents\’ needs, even if they were trivial and trivial.
