As a result, I had to ask someone to change the lock, which cost about 200 at a time. After that, I added a spare key and put it somewhere. It\’s a corner, but it\’s still a bit inconvenient overall, so I\’ve always wanted to change to a smart lock that looks more upscale.

The next step is to compare prices online. After looking at the big brands, they basically cost about 2,000 yuan, which is still a bit painful. Now that the environment is not good, I still want to save some money. In addition, , I don’t have any special pursuit of the brand, as long as it can be used and the quality and workmanship are good, I chose one after comprehensive comparison. The price is only 1/4 of the big brands, less than 500 yuan, and the appearance looks pretty good, as shown below:

The one I chose has a cat-eye function. When you ring the doorbell outside, you can see who is outside, including children, on this display. When you are at home, you can check whether you want to open the door, which is relatively safer. There is also a face recognition model, but I personally don’t like it. Moreover, frequent use of face recognition consumes more battery. What surprised me is that this battery is a module. It is chemically rechargeable, unlike others that use batteries.

The next step is installation, since in order to save moneyYou must install it yourself to save more money. Installation is actually very simple and requires a little bit of hands-on skills. The tools you need:

Philips screwdriver, a pair of pliers, a A saw that can cut iron. For a saw, you can buy a universal saw from a certain store, like the one in the picture below, which costs less than 10 yuan.

I will briefly explain the next steps:

1. Disassemble it first Open your original mechanical lock. You will use your screwdriver here. First remove the front and rear lock handles on the original door, and then remove the screws of the lock body (red frame) and lock cylinder (red arrow). At this time You can take off the lock body.

2. Then use saws and pliers, because in order to be universal, the manufacturer needs to use the lock core pick according to the picture below Cut off the excess part according to the thickness of your door, otherwise the lock on the display side will be held up by the lever and cannot touch the door.

3. In addition, the anti-locking paddle inside the door also needs to be determined according to the thickness of your door. You can cut it with pliers. It will fall off because there are some punch marks on it, which makes it easier to break.

4. The next step is relatively simple. For example, I originally installed a Bawang lock body, so in order to facilitate threading the wire to the back of the door, I need to disassemble the lock body before threading the wire, as shown in the picture below. For the other two locks that are not Bawang locks, you don’t need to remove the lock body, just remove the lock cylinder, so I first put the front door lock wire through the door, then put the lock body back on the door, and then installed the lock cylinder.

5. After installing the lock cylinderYou can start to put the front and rear locks on the door and install them. It should be noted that don’t forget to plug in the wire. Anyway, there is only one wire and you will definitely not plug it in wrong.

6. The next step is to set the password, enter fingerprints, enter ic, add remote control, etc. according to the installation instructions.

Although it is a little more troublesome to install it yourself, you can save more than a thousand. It takes 2 hours by yourself, which is equivalent to 500 wages per hour. I am still very satisfied.
