What are the structural designs and styles of Hayden hangar doors

In the second half of 2024, Kunming Haydun automatic door industry will optimize, transform and upgrade from home decoration electric doors and windows to industrial electric doors and windows, especially accelerating the upgrading of R&D, production and installation of aircraft warehouse electric doors. Among them, there are many types of aircraft warehouse electric doors in terms of structural design and style.

1. Structural design

Push-pull structure

Single sliding door:It consists of a large door panel. Through the bottom track and the top guide device, the electric drive system is used to make a linear push-pull movement along the track to open and close. This structure is suitable for smaller hangars or situations that have special requirements for space utilization, such as auxiliary entrances and exits for some maintenance hangars. The advantage is that the structure is relatively simple and the installation and maintenance costs may be relatively low; the disadvantage is that a large lateral space is required to accommodate the door panel when opening.

Double sliding door:It consists of two door panels, and the two doors push and pull to both sides to open. Usually the size of the two doors can be reasonably allocated according to the actual width of the hangar, so that when opened, it can provide a wider entrance and exit, which is suitable for the main entrance of most conventional hangars. While ensuring a larger opening area, it can make better use of space than a single sliding door and reduce excessive occupation of lateral space. However, the design of its track and drive system must ensure that the two doors move synchronously, otherwise problems such as jamming or loose sealing may occur.

Folding structure

Multiple folding doors:Generally, it is composed of multiple smaller door panels connected by hinges. When opened, the door panels fold along a specific track and are stacked on one side or both sides. This structure can achieve a larger opening size in a limited lateral space, and is suitable for hangars with relatively compact space but requiring a large opening width, such as some small private hangars or spare hangars. The advantage is that it saves space and has less impact on the surrounding space after opening; the disadvantage is that the connecting hinges and other components between the door panels require regular maintenance to ensure smooth folding action, and the overall structure is relatively complex and the cost may be high.

Double-wing folding door:Similar to the concept of a double sliding door, but it opens in a folding manner. That is, the two larger door panels use a special folding mechanism to fold to both sides when opened, creating an effect similar to the spread of wings. This design combines the advantages of a larger opening of double-leaf sliding doors with the space-saving features of folding doors. It is often used in some medium-sized aircraft hangars. It can not only meet the space requirements for aircraft entry and exit, but also better adapt to surrounding site conditions. However, its folding mechanism is relatively complex and requires high manufacturing and installation processes.

Flip-up structure

Single leaf flip-up door:The door panel is connected to the top of the hangar through a hinge or rotating mechanism on the top. When opening, the electric drive system is used to flip the door panel up and open, and then lower it when closing. ThisThis structure is suitable for situations where the top space of the hangar is sufficient but the side and front space is limited, such as some hangars located inside the building or in the surrounding narrow space. The advantage is that it does not occupy lateral and front space when opening, and has little impact on ground traffic; the disadvantage is that it requires high top space, and when the weight of the door panel is large, the requirements for the top connection mechanism and drive system also increase accordingly. Maintenance may be difficult.

Double flip-up door:It consists of two door panels, which are connected to the top of the hangar through their respective top hinges or rotating mechanisms. When opened, the two doors flip up and open at the same time. This structure not only provides a larger opening area, but also further disperses the pressure of the weight of the door panel on the top connection mechanism. It is often used in the main entrances and exits of some large aircraft hangars. Similar to the single-leaf flip-up door, it also requires sufficient head space, and maintenance of the drive system and connecting mechanism is critical.

Translational flip-up structure

Combines two action modes: translation and flipping. The door panel first moves horizontally for a certain distance, and then flips upward to open. This structural design is relatively novel and can solve the problems of simple translation or upturned structures to a certain extent. For example, it can not only reduce the complete dependence on lateral space (compared to the simple translation type), but also reduce the need for top space. Overly demanding (compared to a simple flip-up). It is suitable for some aircraft hangars with complex site conditions and neither sufficient lateral space nor sufficient top space. However, the design, manufacture and installation of this structure are difficult and the cost is relatively high.

2. Style

Tablet style

The door panel is flat as a whole, and the surface is usually made of smooth metal (such as aluminum alloy, steel plate, etc.) or composite materials. This style is simple and elegant, the manufacturing process is relatively simple, and the cost may be relatively low. It focuses on practicality and can meet the basic functional needs of hangar doors. It is one of the most common styles. It is suitable for aircraft hangars of various sizes and types, especially where the appearance requirements are not particularly high and functionality is more important.

Grille style

The door panel adopts a grid-like design, which is a grid structure composed of a series of horizontal bars and vertical bars. This style has good ventilation and lighting while ensuring a certain strength, and is suitable for some hangars that require natural ventilation and lighting, such as some small private hangars or spare hangars. Moreover, the grille style door is relatively unique in appearance, giving people a simple and lively feeling. It can not only meet the functional requirements, but also play a certain decorative role.

Thermal insulation type

For situations where temperature control inside the hangar is required, this style of door focuses on thermal insulation performance in structural design. Usually a double-layer or multi-layer door panel structure is used, with thermal insulation materials (such as rock wool, polyurethane foam, etc.) filled in the middle, or a special thermal insulation coating is used on the surface of the door panel. It can effectively reduce heat exchange inside and outside the hangar, reduce energy consumption, and is suitable for cold areas or hangars with high temperature control requirements.

Transparent style

Some hangar doors are made of transparent or translucent materials, such as polycarbonate boards, glass fiber reinforced plastics, etc. This style can provide good lighting effects and make the interior of the hangar brighter, making it easier for staff to carry out operations, inspections and other activities during the day. At the same time, the transparent style also has a certain degree of aesthetics and is suitable for some hangars that have high requirements for appearance and lighting, such as some display hangars or small hangars near airport terminals.

Composite style

It combines the characteristics of the above-mentioned styles, such as using a combination of flat panels and grilles, or adding transparent parts on the basis of thermal insulation styles. This composite style can be flexibly assembled according to different hangar needs.Combining various functions and appearance features, it provides more diversified choices and is suitable for some aircraft hangars that have high requirements on function and appearance.
