The new outpatient and emergency building of Guanghua Hospital is capped!

On December 18, the structure of the first phase of the off-site relocation project of Shanghai Guanghua Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine was capped. The building is expected to be officially opened in early 2026 and become the new outpatient and emergency building of Guanghua Hospital.

The relocation project of Shanghai Guanghua Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital is located at No. 1508 Yan\’an West Road, Changning District. The total land area of ​​the project is 17,694.8 square meters. It is planned to build a 600-bed tertiary-level integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine hospital with a total construction area of ​​87,539 square meters, of which 42,574 square meters will be built in the first phase (24,800 square meters above ground and 17,774 square meters underground). The total construction period is 3,027 calendar days. The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase is to construct the southern area and the second phase is to construct the northern area.

The Guanghua Hospital relocation project is a national key hospital construction project with traditional Chinese medicine characteristics and a key engineering construction project in Changning District. It is a livelihood project to optimize the layout of health resources in Changning District and meet the needs of the public for medical services. In the \”14th Five-Year Plan\” of Changning District, Guanghua Hospital will be built into the Eastern Medical Center of Changning District and the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Changning District. This structural capping marks another solid step taken by the hospital on the road to building the Eastern Medical Center.

Xiao Lianbojie, President of Guanghua Hospital Shao, the internal decoration work will begin after the structure of the first phase of the off-site relocation project is capped. It is expected to be completed and officially opened by early 2026.

Guanghua Hospital is the first tertiary-level specialty hospital in Changning District. It is a hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other types of joint diseases. In 2022, the hospital became the first hospital in the country.
